Our Christmas Tree

Just sharing some photos of our Christmas Tree, taken with my iPhone.

My son was so sad Sunday because we could not find his cat ornaments (3rd Photo), all 3 cats represent cats we have. The black cat on the red blanket looked exactly like our Figaro. He needed to be put to sleep two years ago this past Thanksgiving. He is still so upset about it. I looked all over and could not find the ornaments, then the very last bag I went through I found them. He was so happy, the expression on his face just filled my heart with joy! Some of you may know he has Down Syndrome and little things like this make him so happy. I purchased the ornament for him last Christmas, it's a Hallmark Ornament.

Thanks for looking!

Spring Flowers

Rhododendron

I just love Spring!
All the new growth,  flowers starting to bloom and the Hummingbirds are back. It was such a gorgeous day today, while waiting for my son to get off the van I grabbed my camera and snapped a few pics. I was in full sun, I like to take flower photos first thing in the morning or at sunset. The colors just pop.

Columbine-Double Aquilegia

these are one of my favorite spring flowers. I also have a double light pink in my front yard. I'll have to get a shot of those also.

Hope you all are having a great Friday!

Mongol Archer

Something a little different for today, LOL

My husband likes to paint Miniatures and Military Models. He finished this project a couple days ago.

It's a Cast Resin kit, 90mm by Miniature Alliance. He assembled the kit, painted and weathered it. For the grass he drilled holes in the figures base, used cut unraveled twine pieces and then painted them.

He used Folk Art and Apple Barrel paints on the majority of the figure. For the face and hands he used Andrea Acrylic Flesh Tone paints. The wood base is from Michaels, stained and polyurethane.

I hope you enjoyed this little detour from paper projects, LOL

Christmas Tree Photos

Our tree this year, I took these photos early this morning.

We adopted a new cat this summer (Siamese mix, the sweetest cat) so I did not put the full tree up because now we have 2 fur babies. I wanted to see how she would react this year first. They both insist on sitting underneath the tree at the same time. So glad hubby tied it down because it would have been tipped over so many times already!

Some ornaments on my tree, I also had to be selective of what I put on the tree and where, LOL

Ornament I made last year, clear ornament with strips of paper cut, curled and placed inside.

This ornament I made in 2008, this was made using digital scrapbooking elements. I measured the width of the ornament and created a circle, placed all the elements within the circle and then printed it out. I cut out my completed circle, then rolled it a bit and placed inside the ornament. I used a skewer to help unroll the photo a bit and then capped the ornament. This is my son, Gunnar.

This is my son and DIL. I created this ornament in 2009, the year they were married. I traced the clear ornament, then scanned it into Photoshop, made the shape a bit smaller and added the photo inside then printed and cut it out. I rolled it and placed it inside the ornament. Using a skewer to help unroll the photo.

Another made ornament.

This Santa recites "The Night Before Christmas"

Ignore the tree to the right of him, I just put it up last night and have to fix the lights and such. I did not get a chance to decorate it yet.

I hope you enjoyed the photos, adding a bit of Christmas Spirit to my blog. :)

Have a great day!

Frosty Morning

Some photos I took this morning while waiting for the van to pick up my son for school. Everything looked so pretty with a bit a frost on it.

Just wanted to share.

Have a great day!
